After treating the injured leg of John Wilkes Booth, the man who assassinated President Abraham Lincoln on April 14, 1865, during a show at Ford’s Theatre in Washington, Dr. Samuel A. Mudd is deemed complicit in the heinous plot. Consequently, he receives a life sentence and is dispatched to the ominous Shark Island Prison.
