The Harder They Fall

Unemployed sports journalist Eddie Willis is recruited by the unscrupulous fight promoter Nick Benko to boost the profile of his latest discovery, an obscure Argentinian boxer named Toro Moreno. Despite Moreno’s imposing size, his prospects are hindered by a weak punch and a fragile chin. Leveraging Willis’ esteemed reputation and influence in the boxing world, Benko orchestrates a series of rigged matches that elevate the inexperienced Moreno to the position of top contender for the championship. The current titleholder, the brutal Buddy Brannen, is bitter about the attention Toro has been receiving and is determined to mercilessly defeat him in the ring. Eddie is now faced with the dilemma of whether to reveal the truth to the unsuspecting Toro.
