As Middleton gears up for its 200th anniversary, Grey House is chosen as the celebration’s venue. The good witch Cassie is transforming it into a bed and breakfast. Her first and only guest, Nick Chasen, asserts that he is a distant relative. He presents documents claiming he is the rightful heir of the original builder, Captain Hamblin from the colonial era, alleging that the Grey lady was his mistress and took the property unlawfully.
