Storm – Letter of Fire

The film takes place in Antwerp in 1521, during a time when Europe is torn apart by religious conflicts and the early days of the Reformation. It follows the journey of twelve-year-old Falko Voeten, the son of a printer. Falko’s father, Klaas Voeten, is apprehended by the Inquisition for printing a letter authored by Maarten Luther, which is considered forbidden literature. This incident inadvertently thrusts Falko into a mission to assist his father and locate the letter. With the Inquisition closing in, Falko receives help from Marieke, a Catholic orphan girl living in the underground sewers. Together, they must race against time to prevent his father from being executed for heresy.
