Kevin Burke, a promising young executive at a global investment bank, is quickly climbing the ranks in the Rotterdam branch. Recognized for his keen insight and fluency in multiple languages, Kevin earns the promotion he has been striving for—a prestigious position on the company’s internal security team. Under the guidance of the mysterious Mr. Ficks, Kevin is trained to safeguard the firm’s employees in unstable, developing markets. This training provides him with a sense of protection, making him feel more secure than he has since the puzzling death of his father. Kevin’s superior, Karl Jorgensen, the bank’s Managing Director, acts as both his boss and a father figure, having mentored him over the years. This relationship stirs jealousy in Jorgensen’s biological son, Karl Jorgensen Junior, who is clearly envious. Despite dismissing this “sibling rivalry,” Jorgensen clearly prefers Kevin, shaping him into a self-assured young man. This newfound confidence empowers Kevin to propose to the woman he loves.
