Silence

Eoghan, a sound recordist, is making his way back to Ireland from Berlin after a 15-year absence. His return is prompted by a job opportunity that involves seeking out and capturing locations untouched by human noise. This mission leads him away from populated areas into isolated landscapes. Along the way, he engages in various encounters and dialogues that gradually shift his focus to a more elusive silence, intertwined with the echoes of the life he once left behind. Drawing inspiration from folklore and archival material, “Silence” unfolds with a subtle intensity, offering poetic visuals that provide a captivating reflection on themes of sound and silence, history, memory, and exile.
