Young Dracula
“Young Dracula” is a British teen horror drama series on CBBC, inspired by Michael Lawrence’s children’s book “Young Dracula AND Young Monsters.” Directed by Joss Agnew, the show debuted in 2006, with its second season airing from late 2007 to early 2008. After a three-year hiatus, the third season premiered on October 31, 2011, followed by a fourth season starting on October 29, 2012.
The initial two seasons center on the Dracula family—Vladimir, his father Count Dracula, and his older sister Ingrid—who relocate from Transylvania to the small Welsh town of Stokely due to conflicts with angry peasant mobs. Filming took place across various Welsh locations, including Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Glantaf, Caerphilly Castle, Tretower Court, and parts of Llantrisant. The third season, which aired three years after the second, follows Vlad and the Count as they escape from both vampires and slayers, with the Count insisting that Vlad embrace his destiny as “the Chosen One.” This season was shot in Liverpool in 2011, utilizing locations such as the abandoned Margaret Bevan School, Croxteth Hall, and Stanley Docks. The fourth season continues the storyline from the third, under the direction of a new filmmaker.
