Police Squad!
“Police Squad!” is a comedic TV series that debuted in 1982, crafted by the trio David Zucker, Jim Abrahams, and Jerry Zucker, with Leslie Nielsen in the lead role. This series is a satire of police dramas, incorporating the creators’ signature visual jokes, clever wordplay, and absurd humor. It parodies numerous TV shows and films, notably resembling the Lee Marvin series “M Squad” and the late 1960s show “Felony Squad.” Despite being axed after just six episodes, it led to the creation of the popular “Naked Gun” movie franchise. In 2013, TV Guide placed it at number 7 on their list of 60 shows that were “Cancelled Too Soon.”
