“Minority Report” explores the unexpected alliance between a man tormented by visions of the future and a police officer burdened by her past, as they strive to prevent the most heinous crimes of the year 2065 before they occur. The story unfolds in Washington, D.C., a decade after the fall of Precrime, a law enforcement unit that specialized in apprehending criminals before they could commit their offenses. This agency relied on three “precognitives”—Dash, Arthur, and Agatha—who possessed the ability to foresee future events. In the year 2065, the approach to solving crimes has evolved, with justice now relying more heavily on advanced and reliable technology rather than the precogs’ intuitive insights.
