Good Luck Charlie

Good Luck Charlie is a sitcom from the United States that debuted on Disney Channel on April 4, 2010. Created by Phil Baker and Drew Vaupen, the show was designed to attract a family audience rather than just children. It centers on the Duncan family from Denver as they navigate life with the arrival of their fourth and fifth children, Charlotte “Charlie” Duncan and Toby Duncan. In each episode, Teddy Duncan records a video diary offering guidance to Charlie about family life and teenage experiences, aiming to prepare her for the future. These diaries conclude with Teddy’s signature line, “Good luck, Charlie.”

To broaden the show’s appeal to all family members, the creators included scenes aimed at adults and changed the series title from Oops to Love, Teddy, and ultimately to Good Luck Charlie. The show premiered on Disney Channel in the U.S. on April 4, 2010, followed by releases in Canada on April 5, 2010, the UK and Ireland on May 14, 2010, and Australia and New Zealand on July 23, 2010. The series was picked up for a second season, with filming starting in August 2010 and the new season airing on February 20, 2011. Additionally, a Christmas-themed Disney Channel Original Movie titled Good Luck Charlie, It’s Christmas! began production in March 2011 and was set to premiere in December 2011.
