“Geordie Shore: Big Birthday Battle” is a spin-off of the British TV show “Geordie Shore,” set in Newcastle upon Tyne. However, on February 12, 2016, it was revealed that both current and former cast members would reunite for a special mini-series celebrating the show’s five-year anniversary. This series premiered on May 10, 2016, featuring the return of former cast members like Daniel Thomas-Tuck, James Tindale, Jay Gardner, Kyle Christie, Ricci Guarnaccio, and Sophie Kasaei. Notably absent were Greg Lake, Rebecca Walker, and Vicky Pattison. Titled “Geordie Shore: Big Birthday Battle,” this series is distinct from the thirteenth season. It introduces a new element with Gaz and Charlotte leading teams in a competition to organize the best nights out. A special episode aired on May 24, 2016, marking the show’s fifth anniversary, showcasing the cast’s reactions to past episodes. The series also celebrated its 100th episode on May 31, 2016. On June 1, 2016, it was announced that original cast member Charlotte Crosby would be leaving the show, making this her final series.
