Set against the backdrop of Vancouver, Canada, “Family Law” centers on lawyer and recovering alcoholic Abigail ‘Abby’ Bianchi, portrayed by Jewel Staite, as she attempts to rebuild her career and family life after reaching her lowest point. As part of her probation requirements, Abby must join her estranged father’s law firm, Svensson and Associates, where she delves into family law for the first time. This new chapter in her life also involves forming connections with her half-brother, played by Zach Smadu, and half-sister, portrayed by Genelle Williams, whom she has never previously met. Together, they create a dysfunctional family law practice dedicated to assisting other families with their own issues.
