Drawn Together
Drawn Together is an American animated sitcom for adults that aired on Comedy Central from October 27, 2004, to November 14, 2007. Created by Dave Jeser and Matt Silverstein, the show adopts a sitcom style within a reality TV show framework.
Similar to MTV’s The Challenge and VH1’s The Surreal Life, the series features eight characters who are a mix of well-known and recognizable personalities. However, Drawn Together distinguishes itself by using exaggerated versions of classic cartoon characters and archetypal figures. The characters’ traits humorously mimic the personality types often found in reality TV programs.
Comedy Central promoted it as the first animated reality show, and in some episodes, the characters engage in challenges reminiscent of those seen in reality TV. Despite being canceled after just three seasons, the show has retained a dedicated fan following. Following its cancellation, The Drawn Together Movie: The Movie! was released on April 20, 2010.
