However, the 2013 fireball explosion over Chelyabinsk, Russia, served as a stark reminder of the genuine threat they pose. On average, NASA identifies a new potentially dangerous asteroid daily, yet many remain undiscovered. These celestial bodies have the potential to obliterate cities, and some are large enough to end human civilization. Conversely, they might contain clues about the origins of our solar system and could be crucial to humanity’s survival. In films, when an asteroid threatens Earth, a group of heroes invariably steps in to avert disaster. But in reality, who has the capability to manage these menacing space objects? Who can protect us from an Asteroid Apocalypse and perhaps guide us into the vast expanse of space?
