Home for the Weekend

At his mother Gitte’s request, Marko, who has resided in Berlin for many years, travels to the rural area to see his parents. He anticipates a peaceful and restful visit with his family, but those expectations are dashed when Gitte unexpectedly announces her recovery from a prolonged mental illness. Marko is the only family member who honors her desire to be regarded as a full-fledged member of the family, which consequently disrupts more than just the fragile equilibrium of his parents’ outwardly harmonious relationship.
