Beneath the Skin

After his family disintegrates, Joshua (played by Aaron Ellis, who also co-writes and co-directs) relocates to Canada. There, he encounters Jay (portrayed by Justin Liles), a local tattoo artist who escaped the violent environment created by his parents in Alabama. Both young men, each experiencing their own form of abandonment and loneliness, begin to develop feelings for each other. However, their budding romance is disrupted by a couple of troublesome high school students. This LGBT film has garnered multiple accolades at film festivals, including Best LGBT Feature Film at the Accolade Competition and the Independent Filmmakers Showcase IFS Film Festival, as well as Best Leading Actor and Narrative Feature at the IndieFEST Film Awards.
