Upon learning that his mentor is nearing death, weary musician Kino Warren sets out on a cross-country trek, venturing into a mysterious realm known as “the territory.” Kino is convinced that his mentor will not pass away until he reaches him. Unbeknownst to Kino, he is being pursued by a group of individuals with different motives—some with ill intentions and others with political agendas. They are all after the sole existing recording of the most extraordinary piece of music ever composed, a creation by his mentor that is said to have the power to erase all pain for those who hear it. This recording is in Kino’s possession, though he is completely unaware of it.
