Local Boys

On Skeet’s twelfth birthday, his older brother Randy gifts him his first surfboard, sparking a summer filled with the pursuit of the ultimate wave, lively beach parties, and thrilling escapades, especially as Randy becomes preoccupied with a new romantic interest. To Skeet’s amazement, he is mentored by the legendary surfer Jim Wesley, who teaches him the art of hot-dogging. Meanwhile, Randy, grappling with their father’s death and trying to step into his role, feels envious of Jim’s growing influence on Skeet and is displeased when Jim starts dating their single mother. Caught in the tension between his brother and his new mentor, Skeet withdraws to his room, yearning for the ocean.
