Behind Blue Skies

In 1975, Martin is a teenager eager to escape his oppressive home life, dominated by his alcoholic father and patient mother. His friend Micke proposes they work as waiters at a resort on the Swedish coast, and Martin eagerly agrees. However, Micke soon finds other pursuits, leaving Martin to navigate the job alone. Fortunately, he finds comfort in the company of Jenny, an attractive co-worker. Unexpectedly, Martin catches the attention of Gösta, the resort’s hot-tempered manager, who takes him under his wing. As Gösta’s right-hand man, Martin quickly learns about the darker aspects of life, uncovering Gösta’s involvement in various business ventures, some of which are neither legal nor ethical.
